The Siemens MS42 and MS43 engine control units belong to a defining generation of BMW inline-six engines: MS42 for the M52TU, MS43 for many vehicles with the M54. With QNTUM21, you can program supported variants directly via the OBD port – without removing the control unit.
Stage 1. For your stock vehicle.
Our Stage 1 OTS maps are designed for mechanically sound vehicles with stock hardware. OTS stands for "Off the Shelf": a pre-configured software tuning for the respective approved engine and control unit variant.
Ignition timing, target lambda values, and VANOS control are calibrated to work in harmony. The goal: to utilize your engine's existing potential and purposefully optimize its power delivery.
Which tuning is suitable for your vehicle depends on the engine variant, control unit, and software version. Software optimization does not replace maintenance or repairs. Existing faults and technical defects must be rectified before application.
The right fuel makes the difference.
For our tuning, we recommend Super Plus with at least 98 ROZ – internationally referred to as 98 RON.
This refers to the octane rating common in Europe. Our application achieves its intended potential best with this fuel quality or higher. Always observe the specific fuel requirements of your selected map. A lower octane rating may only be used if explicitly approved for it.
Individual options? Already included.
The single options offered and approved for your vehicle are included in the OTS package. This allows you to utilize available individual adjustments in addition to the performance increase.
Important: Not every vehicle with an M54 engine has an MS43 control unit. Therefore, first check the vehicle compatibility and then the identification in the QNTUM21 app. The approval for your specific vehicle is decisive.
